In 1993 the FOLDEX first made its appearance in a Show Hall and was presented by Betty-Ann Yaxley. The public really liked the Foldex and a few people started working with this interesting breed. Jeanne Barrette was the most faithful follower and carried the torch. Her relentless work and perseverance allowed the FOLDEX to be accepted as an Experimental breed in November 1998 and to finally be accepted as New Breed in August 2006.

The FOLDEX is a new breed produced by the crossing of the Scottish Fold and Exotic to obtain a cat possessing a rounder head, a shorter nose, upright or folded ears, beautiful big round eyes with a plush fur which gives him the look of a small teddy bear. The appearance of the FOLDEX is thus a compromise between the Scottish Fold which has a snout and the Exotic with a very short nose.

The FOLDEX is an active, cheerful, intelligent and curious cat. Affectionate, they approach strangers with ease and enjoy being petted. They have a very charming personality.

Do not hesitate to consult the standards of the FOLDEX to learn more.
